Dr. Peter Munt

Dr Peter Munt is the principal orthodontist and founder of Scope Orthodontics. Although born in Queensland, Peter has well and truly made Western Australia his home.

After completing high school in Perth, Peter completed a First Class Honours degree in Science at the University of Western Australia. Following two years working in Port Hedland, Peter was accepted into dentistry at the University of Western Australia. Here, he was also awarded First Class Honours, along with many prizes for academic and practical excellence each year. Peter then commenced practice in the government dental clinic in Bunbury, before becoming an associate and then practice owner for almost a decade in a private practice in West Perth.

Having an ongoing thirst for development and career progression, Peter began the prestigious orthodontics programme at the University of Western Australia. Spending three years in full-time study, finishing with a Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics, he was also awarded the TP (Australia) Postgraduate Award for the Best Clinically Treated case of any orthodontics student in Australasia.

Upon graduation, Peter and his family moved to Ireland for 18 months, he worked in the Health Service Executive as a specialist orthodontist.

Returning home, Peter set down roots in private specialist orthodontic practice and founded Scope Orthodontics, where he continues today, providing excellent care and state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment throughout the northern suburbs of Perth.

Peter is a life member of Equal Health, an Australian charity organisation that provides medical, dental, and optical aid to third-world countries. Peter and his wife Ellie have made several aid trips to India, providing dental treatment to orphans and the underprivileged.

In recognition of this, Peter has been elected as a fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, an Honours society aimed at improving dental health worldwide.

He is also an active participant in the ‘Give A Smile’ programme. An initiative set up by the Australian Society of Orthodontics aimed at directing orthodontic care to patients who would otherwise not have access to treatment.

Dr. Queenie Ong – Award-Winning Orthodontist in Perth
Meet your Orthodontist

Dr Queenie Ong

Dr Queenie Ong was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. She moved to the UK in 2010 to pursue dentistry at The University of Sheffield and graduated with honours in 2015. She spent a year in general dental practice in Middlesbrough. In her pursuit for career progression, Queenie underwent further postgraduate training in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the York District Hospital and later at the Queen's Medical Centre, a major trauma centre in Nottingham. She has also served in a community dental setting within the field of Paediatric Dentistry, which provided dental care for children and young adults with additional needs. Her desire to make a difference led Queenie to undertake an academic fellowship in Public Dental Health. During this time, she worked alongside dental and medical professionals and led various campaigns to raise public awareness of child dental health.

Whilst Queenie has enjoyed a variety of dental specialties, she has always remained passionate about a career in orthodontics. She completed a 3-year Master's degree in Orthodontics at the University of Manchester in 2022 and received her Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England that same year, being awarded the J K Williams Medal for achieving the highest score of any candidate assessed by the College. She later embarked on a 2-year training programme under the National Health Service to diversify her experience in complex multidisciplinary cases including orthognathic surgery, hypodontia and cleft care. She completed an Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exam in Orthodontics in 2024, which finalised her orthodontic training in the UK.

Queenie moved to Perth, Australia in 2025 to be closer to her family. Outside of orthodontics, she enjoys fitness, dining, and the great outdoors. She spends her weekends with her husband and two ragdoll cats, Tofu and Mochi.

Queenie believes in providing a personalised approach and holistic care for her patients. She is fully committed to help them achieve their best smile.
