Thumb sucking habit
Quad Helix appliance with anti-habit crib
The thumb sucking habit resulted in an anterior open bite whereby the upper and lower teeth do not overlap vertically. This severely compromises chewing ability with many foods. Treatment consisted of a Quad helix appliance with anti-habit crib which was worn for six months. With habit cessation the teeth spontaneously improved their positions as shown.
